Tim Fitzroy & Associates was engaged by Southern Cross University to design and deliver a series of Land Use Conflict Risk Assessment Workshops to assist in the implementation of the North Coast Living & Working in Rural Areas handbook (Learmonth et al, 2007).

The Living & Working in Rural Areas Project is a collaborative project involving the Northern Rivers Catchment Management Authority, Southern Cross University and NSW Department of Primary Industries. The Living and Working in Rural Areas handbook, and in particular Chapter 6 – Development Control, provides guidance in the assessment and mitigation of potential land use conflict matters and has been used as a resource for this series of Land Use Conflict Risk Assessment Workshops.

A Participants Manual has been developed in conjunction with the PowerPoint presentation and workshop activities to provide a future reference tool to assist you in your role in helping to manage land use compatibility issues in the future.
